  • Inspected per ISO 9001 -- spectrography, HRC, and abrasion testing per batch
Product Overview

Built for the most abrasive flow paths in heavy industry.

HALDEN Chromium Carbide Overlay Pipe is manufactured by depositing a high-chromium, high-carbon hardfacing alloy onto the inner or outer surface of a structural steel pipe using open-arc FCAW overlay welding. The result is a bimetal pipe combining the toughness and weldability of mild steel with the extreme abrasion resistance of a chromium carbide composite.

The deposit microstructure is dominated by primary M7C3 chromium carbides (typically 50-60% by volume) embedded in an austenitic matrix -- delivering wear life 5 to 10 times longer than AR400/AR500 steel under sliding abrasion conditions, with a fraction of the maintenance interval.

Pipes can be supplied straight, bent, flanged, lined internally or clad externally, and matched to your existing pipework geometry. HALDEN's free sample service and engineering support team help you specify the correct overlay thickness and base wall for the actual wear mechanism in your plant.

Engineering Advantages

Engineered for service life -- not just data sheets.

Every HALDEN CCO pipe is overlay-welded on our own automated lines and inspected with metallurgical-grade equipment.

Metallurgical Bond

True fusion bond between overlay and base -- not glued, bolted, or mechanically clamped. Handles thermal cycling and impact without spalling.

5-10× Wear Life

Field-validated against AR400/AR500 in cement raw-meal lines, fly-ash piping, and slurry transfer -- major reduction in shutdowns and re-piping cost.

Custom Geometry

Bends, elbows, tees, reducers, flanges, grooves, wear-back design -- fabricated to your isometric or 3D drawing.

8hr Engineering Reply

Drawings, alloy match, and overlay-thickness recommendation returned within 8 working hours -- backed by 17+ years of project experience.

Quality Control

Every batch is verified -- chemistry, hardness, abrasion.

HALDEN does not rely on visual inspection alone. Each production batch of CCO Overlay Pipe is examined using metallurgical-grade testing equipment, and a Mill Test Certificate is issued with every shipment.
