Wear Liner
Plates & Liners
Chromium carbide overlay (CCO) wear liners engineered for severe abrasion, erosion, and moderate impact -- extending the service life of chutes, hoppers, bunkers, fan blades, and bulk material handling equipment in cement, mining, power, and steel plants.
Engineered for Where
Standard Steel Fails.
HALDEN wear liners are produced by depositing a high-chromium carbide alloy onto a tough mild-steel backing plate using open-arc FCAW overlay welding. The resulting bimetallic structure delivers a hard, abrasion-resistant working face with a weldable, formable substrate.
Each batch is verified by spectrographic analysis, Rockwell hardness testing, and dry-sand rubber-wheel abrasion testing in accordance with our ISO 9001 quality system -- ensuring consistent deposit chemistry and predictable service life from plate to plate.
Up to 12× the service life of AR400 / Q235 carbon steel under high-abrasion bulk handling conditions.
Cr 25-32% / C 4-6% with primary M7C3 carbides, batch-verified by SPECTROMAX analysis.
Mild-steel backing supports cutting, bending, drilling, and welding -- ready for direct field installation.
Plasma-cut to drawing, pre-drilled, plug-welded, formed to radius -- supplied ready-to-install.

Every Batch
Tested in House.
Wear performance starts with verified deposit chemistry and consistent hardness. Every wear liner shipped from HALDEN is supported by a Mill Test Report covering chemical analysis, hardness verification, dimensional check, and visual examination -- backed by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
SPECTROMAX optical emission spectrometer verifies deposit chemistry on every batch.
Surface and macro hardness checked at multiple points on the overlay face.
ASTM G65 dry-sand rubber-wheel test for comparative abrasion benchmarking.
Microscope examination confirms M7C3 carbide distribution and bond integrity.

Questions.
Don't see your application? Our engineers respond within 8 hours with a tailored recommendation.
How is HALDEN wear liner different from AR400 / AR500 plate?
AR plates are through-hardened steels (~400-500 HB) relying on bulk hardness. CCO wear liners deposit a chromium-carbide alloy face (~58-65 HRC) bonded to mild steel -- typically delivering 5-12× the abrasion life under sliding-bulk-material wear.
Can the plates be cut, drilled, and welded on site?
The mild-steel backing supports plasma cutting, drilling, plug welding, and stud welding through the base side. The overlay face itself should not be welded directly -- installation is via plug welds, fasteners, or stud welds from the back.
What is the typical lead time?
Standard plate sizes typically ship within 15-25 days. Custom-fabricated liner sets cut to drawing typically require 25-40 days depending on complexity and quantity.
Do you provide free samples for evaluation?
Yes. HALDEN supports free sample evaluation for qualified industrial buyers. Samples are typically 200×200 mm coupons including MTR, allowing customers to verify hardness and abrasion resistance before placing a production order.
What documentation is included with each shipment?
Each shipment includes Mill Test Report (chemistry + hardness), packing list, commercial invoice, certificate of origin, and ISO 9001 quality declaration. Additional documentation for export markets (CE, country-specific) can be issued on request.
